As of today(01/09/2017), Austrian Airlines and the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) are expanding their cooperation program entitled “AIRail” on the route between Salzburg Central Railway Station and Vienna Airport. In combination with a previous or subsequent Austrian Airlines flight, Austrian Airlines passengers are able to take advantage of three daily Railjet connections of the ÖBB with an Austrian Airlines flight number between Salzburg Central Railway Station and Vienna Airport. Travel time between Salzburg Central Railway Station and Vienna Airport amounts to 2 hours 49 minutes. The existing Austrian Airlines flight offering of six daily flights on the Salzburg-Vienna route remains unchanged, and is complemented by the three AIRail connections.
AIRail: Collect miles like on flights, guaranteed further connection and WLAN on the train
In addition to the possibility of collecting miles on flight connections within the context of the Miles & More program, Austrian Airlines passengers can also collect miles on the AIRail route between Salzburg and Vienna. Passengers on Railjet can use WLAN and enjoy the catering of the firm ‘Henry am Zug’. Furthermore, they benefit from a guaranteed further connection, regardless of whether their journey continues by plane or train. Austrian Business Class passengers travel in first class on the train, and are also given free access to the ÖBB lounge before leaving Salzburg Central Railway Station.
