The British Airways system crashed for the seventh time in a year due to technical fault causing huge delay at the London’s two biggest airports- Heathrow and Gatwick.
The check-in desk of Gatwick Airport was queued up eight rows deep.
Flights from the capital to destinations like Athens, Milan, Malta, Malaga, Glasgow and Dubrovnik were all delayed due to the 20 minutes snag.
It was reported that some of the passengers were stuck on planes on the runway waiting for the issue to be resolved while others were unable to check in online their flights and were informed of it being departed.
The British Airways apologized to the passengers for the technical glitch.
A British Airways spokesperson said that they were sorry for the temporary check-in problems that caused the delay in the morning. The customers were being checked in as normal as soon as the problem was resolved.
The issue got resolved and the staffs helped the customers get on board for their holidays.
Some of the passengers took to Twitter and ranted about the scenario as ‘carnage’ that resulted in two-hour long lines and planes being stranded.
This incident happened just after a month the British Airways grounded all its flight during a busy Bank Holiday weekend that had the Heathrow and Gatwick in turmoil.
