After a long time, following a spate of the terrorist attack in November 2015, Paris this year sees the surge of tourists.

The latest figures show on the basis of the overnight hotel stays in the first trimester of 2017, Paris marks the increase in stays which has been the maximum in the last 10 years.

According to the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, Paris, the capital of France saw a 13 percent increase in the overnight use of accommodations in the first four months of 2017 compared to the same period in 2016. The increase of the tourists marks the highest number of stays in more than 10 years.

The latest tourism statistics on Paris reveals that the foreign tourists from the countries like Russia, China and USA are returning to the “City of Light” after the terrorist attack of 2015, with the first four months of 2017 seeing a 16 percent increase in international arrivals. It is a notable revive in tourism sector after having a dearth in 2016. The tourist’s visits from Russia rose to 51 percent; Japan rose to 62 percent and China rose to 40 percent.

Paris did an aggressive promotional campaign throughout 2016, which resulted in the flow of tourists in 2017. The city of Paris released a two and a half-minute tourism video broadcasted in markets like Milan, Shanghai, Tokyo, New York, Berlin and Beijing. That video shows the city’s gastronomy, shopping, and cultural attractions. It was €2 million plan to attract tourists across the world back to this littered city of Europe. There is a hike of €8 million for the promotion of Paris as the tourist destination.
