A large chunk of Camden Market, a popular attraction of London was destroyed owing to a massive blaze early on Monday.

The blaze had broken just a short while prior to midnight, as per the account of the London Fire Brigade. Currently, the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. There have been no reports of any injury or casualties due to the fire breakout. London Fire Brigade said that 10 fire engines were present at the scene of the fire that had broken out just before midnight on Sunday after the fire took place in a property close to Camden Stables.

In a dramatic footage, flames were observed to be leaping to and fro and smoke billowing into the air.

In fact, the scene was visible from miles away. Some of the witnesses said that the fire appeared to be ‘moving very fast’, thereby raising concerns of explosions if it reached the restaurants located nearby. London Fire Brigade (LFB) appealed the people to quit the region while they made the best attempts to douse the flames.

The first, second and third floors as well as the roof of the building in north London containing several businesses were damaged on account of the fire, as revealed by the London Fire Brigade on Monday morning.

David Reid who is the Station Manager of London Fire Brigade said that the crew members worked quite hard to bring the fire under control and to prevent it from spreading to the neighbouring buildings.

LFB said that it had sent 10 fire engines and also a helicopter to the spot of the incident.

And, the witnesses said that it had observed ‘lots of ambulances’ rushing toward the scene. Crews from all across north and central London struggled to deal with the blaze before it was brought under control around 2.50 a.m.

This incident follows the Grenfell Tower apartment block’s incident in which 80 people were killed by a blaze.

Camden Market has over 1,000 shops, bars and cafes, stalls and much more. It had caught a fire in the year 2008 when the shops close by and the storage areas were set ablaze , damaging the adjoining houses as well. A major portion of the market had to be shut down for many months.
