BERLIN / GRANADA - With the purchase of the Vincci Granada and its reopening as Leonardo Hotel Granada, the hotel group now has its first location in the popular Spanish tourist region of Andalusia. This brings up a total of six hotels belonging to the Leonardo Hotels in Spain.
Granada is especially popular with tourists because of its many historical sites and monuments and it is also an important industrial center. The takeover represents yet another step in the Leonardo Hotel's European expansion that reinforces its presence in the Spanish market.
The location in the heart of the city, close to the main railway station, makes the 4-star hotel extremely attractive: Tourist sights such as the Alhambra or the Albayzin Moorish Quarter are easily accessible from the hotel. Most of the 176 rooms also have a fabulous view of the Sierra Nevada. Beside the restaurant the hotel has two conference rooms with space for up to 100 people.
Daniel Roger, Managing Director Leonardo Hotels Europe: "Part of our company strategy is to open hotels in Spain's dynamic hotspots. So we are delighted now, after Barcelona and Madrid, to include Granada in our portfolio."
Hogan Lovells acted as legal advisor of Leonardo Group in the acquisition process.
