SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA—Marriott International’s Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts has signed Le Méridien Seoul, marking the first Le Méridien property in Korea. Owned by Cheonwon Ind. Co. Ltd, the hotel will offer European architecture intertwined with mid-century modern design, and is slated to open in September.
A modern design approach has been taken by David Collins Studio, which is evident through the structural concept of columns and beams that allow for large open floor spaces, further characterized by clean simplicity that is integrated with nature, according to the company. Artwork can be seen throughout.
Le Méridien Seoul will have 336 guestrooms, including 109 club rooms and 29 suites with access to the club lounge, which will provide refreshments throughout the day and exclusive spaces for socializing and working. The presidential suite will have a curated mix of antique and modern furniture.
The hotel is also anchored by the signature Le Méridien Hub, which reinterprets the traditional hotel lobby into a social gathering place. Amenities will include a fitness center, pool, three distinct restaurants and bars, as well as event and meeting spaces.
