Hurtigruten, a coastal and expedition cruise operator based in Norway, having worldwide cruise chain, is now planning to take a tour to the East Coast expeditions next year. This will be one of the hardest and the toughest cruise tour in Norway.
The 14-ship company, Hurtigruten, announced in the month of July, that they are planning to deploy one of its hardiest voyage ships along the Eastern seaboard in 2018 for a pair of 12-night voyages.
Taking place in the month of April and October on the 318-passenger Fram, the “Coastal Gems of America” will make a trip to Halifax, Nova Scotia and Miami and the stops in Bar Harbor, Bucksport and Rockland, Maine, Boston, Newport, R.I, New York City and Charleston, S.C. It will be the first voyage and the visit to the United States, as the MS Fram is moving between Arctic and Antarctica.
Previously, MS Fram was unveiled in 2007 with a capacity of 12,700-ton vessel, which was specifically designed for travel to the polar regions of Antarctica and Arctic regions, with a strengthened hull that allows it to navigate through sea ice. It is a stout and sturdy passenger vessel; it carries motorised rubber landing craft in a spacious internal storage area. MS Fram also has a widespread observation deck for the ease of travelling.
Hurtigruten is best known for the production and the conduction of the worldwide expeditions and the tours, with the fleet of cruise ferries that sail along the Norwegian coast between Bergen and Kirkenes. There are 11 ships which are travelling to the route. Hurtigruten is also pioneered in Arctic region tours with the ice and emerged as the header in Antarctica voyages.
