Lately, the startling Dubai Food Park has been introduced in the presence of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, along with Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Creative Clusters Authority.
This launch proved to be latest addition to Dubai Wholesale City. This Food Park will be developed by spending an amount like Dh5.5 billion.
Shaikh Mohammad was present at the briefing by Abdullah Al Habbai, Chairman of Dubai Holding, who mentioned the main features of the Park. He said that the park is positioned to provide an attractive environment for business operators and investors related to food sector. Also, it will facilitate access to new markets and investments worldwide.
Dubai’s world-class infrastructure in land, marine and air transport will immensely help the Park to benefit. The park is expected to play a significant role in aiding food security in the country. Spread across 48 million square feet, the food park is based in Dubai Wholesale City. It would close to Dubai South, only 10 minutes walking distance from Al Maktoum International Airport. It is also near Expo 2020 Dubai site, and Jebel Ali Free Zone.
To quote Al Habbai, “Dubai Food Park has been established to meet the growing demand from the food sector in the UAE and the region, triggered by population growth and the development of the tourism sector. There is an increased need for specialised logistical services that ease supply chain costs, as well as for more dedicated spaces to accommodate the fast growing operations of food companies in Dubai.”
