Hilton and BRG Discuss Travel and Tourism Growth with Vietnam Prime Minister

HANOI and MCLEAN, Va. - During a Vietnamese trade delegation to the U.S.A., Hilton (NYSE: HLT) CEO & President Christopher J Nassetta was joined by key strategic Vietnam business partner, Nguyen Thi Nga, Chairwoman of BRG Group, in a special meeting with His Excellency Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

As part of a visit hosted by the US Secretary of Commerce, Hilton and BRG shared with the Prime Minister their collective perspectives on the Vietnam travel and tourism sector as a key pillar of future economic and employment growth, already contributing 7.3% employment and 9.1% GDP.
"We are living in a golden age of travel, with an exponential increase in international tourism taking place. Vietnam is an incredible destination with the potential to be a significant beneficiary and, at Hilton, we are committed to bringing our unique brand of hospitality everywhere our customers want us to be," said Nassetta.

"Alongside one of our key strategic business partners, BRG Group, it was a pleasure to meet with His Excellency Nguyễn Xuân Phúc to highlight our expanding business operations and discuss opportunities to support the government's travel and tourism strategy."

During the meeting, Hilton and BRG outlined details of their partnership, which includes two trading hotels in Hanoi, Hilton Hanoi Opera and Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi, plus the recently announced dual brand project to develop Hilton Hanoi Westlake and DoubleTree by Hilton Hanoi Westlake. Hilton has also previously announced management agreements for Hilton Hai Phong, which is under construction, and the DoubleTree by Hilton Doson.

"Travel and tourism is a significant component of BRG Group's business model and we are excited about its prospects in Vietnam. With two million people already directly employed and a further two million jobs supported by the sector, it is a major contributor to our society," said Nga.
"By strengthening ties with iconic international brands such as Hilton, attracting further inward investment and international visitors, the industry will continue to flourish."

Hilton operates two hotels in Vietnam with a further six under development. BRG Group itself has business interests in banking, goods production and trading, golf course development and operation, and real estate development.
