Red Sea has been encouraging more disabled tourists to try their luck in diving as several diving centres are conducting trips for tourists with impaired physical mobility.
First of all, the tourists are required to undertake special training from experienced diving instructors. But then, their disabilities would to be able to check their temptation to dive deep into the Red Sea and enjoy the unique colorful fishes, coral reefs and marine life of this part of the world.
Diving centers in Marsa Alam, Safaga and Hurghada are now ready to provide trips to disabled divers inspired by a promotional campaign to motivate inclusivity on tourism.
The cost of a diving trip for disabled tourists is nearly 40% more as compared to the able-bodied divers.
One of the diving areas in Safaga city had organized a diving cruise for 40 disabled tourists from Poland that had travelled around the coral reefs of Red Sea as part of the tourism campaign for people with special needs. Hurghada diving center officials were alerted about the demand from disabled European tourists, especially Germans to embark upon a diving adventure in the stunning depths of the Red Sea.
The diving centers ensure that the divers attain preliminary diving training.
As part of this process, they learn to utilize diving equipment for compatibility with wheelchairs.
Once the disabled tourists arrive at the agreed diving spot, they are helped to stand on the back of the launch boat. Then, they descend into the water and this is quite a critical stage. The diving instructor accompanying every group of tourists guide them and offer specialized care for disabled divers.
