Millions of people regularly take part in conferences, meetings and other events every year. Only in the US, the number of attendees amounts about 225 million. A new study in the UK finds out that 57% of attendees find it difficult or very difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle at events, signifying there is a need for healthier food choices.
30 Euston Square recently revealed statistics of its survey with delegates and organizers at 428 events hosted during the summer of 2016. The statistics revealed a 72% increase in requests for healthier menu choices compared to the same period in 2015. In response, the venue has refreshed its hospitality offering, with a focus on more creative healthier options.

30 Euston Square monitors both internal and national trends in the food and hospitality market to create varied, healthy and balanced menus for their events – fundamental parts of the 30 Euston Square food philosophy. In particular, “healthy swaps” are available across much of its offering, whilst heathy options in its latest menus are highlighted with the use of a “green leaf” motif. Whilst the new menus include a variety of creative, flavoursome, rich and filling canapes, bowl food, private dining and international options.
30 Euston Square, home of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP), is a conference, meetings and events venue in the heart of London. Conveniently situated next to a major transport hub, 30 Euston Square is an ideal venue for both domestic and international delegates travelling to London for business.
On the other hand, in another survey we published earlier, food and beverage pricing is third important factor for planners when selecting a property, after location and room rate. Additionally the importance of food and beverage options to planners remained constant year over year.
Many international events cause health issues through travel and unhealthy habits during the days of attendance. Promoting health and well-being within Conference Venues is therefore something that both delegates and venues should put more focus on.
