Delta has been named to the 2017 Honor Roll by Companies That Care for the second year in a row. The companies and organizations on the Honor Roll have the common denominator of behaving in socially responsible ways for their employees and communities.

Delta named to 2017 Honor Roll by Center for Companies That Care“We’re thrilled to receive this honor for a second straight year, and are grateful for the ongoing validation of our unique workplace culture,” said Joanne Smith, Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. “Caring about each other has been encoded into Delta’s DNA from the very beginning. In addition, caring about the communities we serve – volunteering our time and resources – has always been a natural part of Delta’s philosophy of ‘service from the heart.”

Delta qualified for the award by excelling in the 10 Characteristics set forth by the non-profit, which include taking into account the human toll when making business decisions, cultivating the full potential of employees, supporting the pursuit of work/life balance, sustaining an inclusive work environment founded on dignity and respect for all employees, and volunteering in the community. Two key components of the selection process are a written application and employee survey results.

“Since the Honor Roll’s inception 15 years ago, many things have changed in our country and our business climate, but what hasn’t changed is that the companies on this list, like those before them, exemplify the best of the best,” said Marci Koblenz, co-founder and president, Center for Companies That Care. “We are pleased to recognize these organizations that have remained connected with their employees and communities to understand their needs and to take the human toll into account when making business decisions. They demonstrate a commitment to social responsibility, for their employees and their communities, year in and year out.”
