Iberostar Hotels & Resorts introduced an app for iOS and Android phones which is in operation at ten of its hotels in Europe and the Caribbean. It will be rolled out to all the rest of its properties by the end of this year.
The app allows guests to chat in real time with the hotel staff via the e-concierge function, described as a digital butler service, to fulfil requests prior to arrival. There is also an interactive map which gives access to the hotel’s services and facilities. They can also reserve table at the resort’s restaurant, consult the menu, request for late checkout. Users also have access to a timeline of various events and activities available each day.
The tool has the possibility of incorporating new functions, such as opening room doors and serving as a payment platform. Visitors can operate the app in English and Spanish and is available for free download.
