Travelling while pregnant can prove to be a hazard. In order to make it a little easier for the mommy to be, a new application has been launched which would help the travellers find a seat while using the public transportation system. The app ‘Babee on Board’ will alert the fellow passengers by sending them a notification that says “There might be a pregnant person near you who needs a seat.”

The brand new app has been developed by 10X the app will communicate with its companion apps in order to function. The developers announced that the alert feature of the app costs around £3.99, but one can get the feature for receiving the requests for free. At present only iphone users can use the Babee on Board app.

The chief executive of 10X, Hew Leith has informed that they would rather give it away for free but they need to ensure that there is a barrier, so people don’t download it for free and troll those around them. Leith has also informed that they are donating 100% of the profits to ‘Project Healthy Children’.

With the help of this app, pregnant travellers will be able to find seats in the tube, train or a bus. But the only drawback that the app has, that it can only notify other commuters if they have already installed the app on their cell phones and it uses Bluetooth to communicate, which can make it harder for the app to deliver the message as most of the people disable Bluetooth as it drains the battery of the phone. Apart from these drawbacks, the app can prove to be helpful for the pregnant travellers.
