The wettest December on record in the Kimberley will power the most spectacular waterfalls ever during Ahoy Buccaneers’ three special wet season expedition cruises in March, 2017, with the low-cost cruise operator also offering a 10 per cent discount for bookings made by January 31, 2017.

Broome received a record 410mm of rain in December – 47 per cent more than the previous record in 1970 and seven times the normal rainfall of 58mm, meaning famous Kimberley coast waterfalls like King George River Falls, Kings Cascades and Casuarina Falls will thunder spectacularly over rugged cliffs for months to come.

Ahoy Buccaneer’s 25-guest motor yacht, Oceanic, will offer three, 13-day adventure cruises one-way between Broome and Wyndham on March 1, 14 and 27, 2017. The late wet season expeditions through the wild and remote islands of the Buccaneer and Bonaparte archipelagos will enable guests to experience the dramatic excitement of tropical, monsoon storms, beautiful sunsets and lightning shows, gushing waterfalls and lush scenery.

Oceanic offers double bed and bunk cabins as well as the opportunity for passengers to sleep under the stars in deluxe swags in a mix of boat and beach locations each night. The 24m rigged vessel also boasts indoor and outdoor dining areas, two lounges and a deck spa. Fresh and healthy cuisine is prepared by an onboard cook who regularly sources much of the menu from what is caught from the sea each day. The atmosphere onboard Oceanic is barefoot casual and friendly, with guests encouraged to help fish or sail the Oceanic.

The itineraries on March 1 and 27 start in Broome and end in Wyndham while the March 14 cruise operates in reverse. Bookings for the 13-day cruises made by January 31, 2017, will receive a 10 per cent discount. This means each cruise is now available from $3600 per person, twin share, for a swag each night (a saving of $400) or $4500 per person twin-share, in a double or twin cabin (a saving of $500).Solo travellers can cruise at the same rate – from $3600 in swags or from $4500 if sharing a twin bunk cabin, including the discount .
