As an aftermath of recent militant attacks, France is planning to rope in more police units and surveillance cameras for restoring confidence in Asian tourists who have been alarmed by robberies and such radical attacks and which have resulted in significant drop in tourist numbers.

France is the world’s most popular country for tourists with 85 million visitors last year and the tourism sector employs almost 2 million people. France’s tourism companies apprehend that visitor number to the country stand the chance of falling 4 to 5% this year due to the deadly terrorist attacks in France and Nice and incidents of robberies targeting the tourists.

On Monday, the country’s Prime Minister Manuel Valls will summon a government committee on tourism and grant around 43 million Euros ($48 million) to fund security and an advertising campaign and measures to assist restaurants and hotels. The police force and security cameras will be especially focused on important visitor attractions and routes in and around Paris. The government will also come up with tourist security label for declaring safety of sites.
