Turkish and international businessmen will gather in Istanbul for the Turkey-Africa Economic and Business Forum which will take between 2 and 3 November, 2016.
The Forum, jointly organized by Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, the African Union Commission, Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) and Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), will provide a unique platform for the business circles of Turkey and African countries to create a long-lasting cooperation.
Istanbul Lutfi Kirdar ICEC will host the event which will gather businessmen for business-to-business (B2B) meetings as well as sessions that cover topics such as “Business in Africa: Opportunities and Challenges”, Financing of Investment Projects in Africa: Infrastructure, Transportation, Energy.
DEİK Africa Business Council President Tamer Taşkın reported that Turkish investors who had been doing business exclusively in North African countries were now focusing on sub-Saharan Africa. Almost 80 percent of sub-Saharan Africa lacks access to electricity, according to the International Energy Agency’s Africa Energy Outlook report. The session titled “Financing of Investment Projects in Africa: Infrastructure, Transportation, Energy” will be an important one to attend on the second day of the forum.
