Corinthia Hotel has appointed world’s first ever ‘neuroscientist in residence’ to help boost and maximize the brain power of the guests.

The hotel, located at the heart of London, appointed Dr. Tara Swart, a trained doctor, psychiatrist, leadership coach and author, on a one-year term as ‘neuroscientist in residence’- a global first in the hotel industry.

This a new offering to the guest in addition to its already available opulence of services a posh hotel can offer.

Courtesy to Dr Swart, the new offering is designed to enhance the workings of the brain of the guests.

The package includes black-out blinds and sleep-inducing lavender sprays in the bedroom, mindfulness messages in the ward-winning spa and a ‘brain power menu’ that get the mind moving more effectively.

The food in ‘brain power menu’ included something like ‘raw kale salad with beetroot, green tea veal paillard with spinach and cognition-boosting coconut oil.

Brain Power Study: One of the main goals of the hotel’s Neuroscientist in Residence program is to generate insights into how to maximize their potential, both at work and home, by building mental resilience in order to succeed in increasingly stressful work environments. Rising levels of cortisol and therefore stress, impact wellness and productivity.

The findings from the study will generate a number of fascinating insights for employees and business leaders, demonstrating how to increase ability to cope with change, learn new behaviors and skills, develop emotional awareness and maintain a positive outlook.  These characteristics are recognized as fundamental factors in corporate well-being and success, and have even shown a direct lift of a company’s bottom line.  Moreover, companies investing in resilience program report benefits including reduced stress, improved work satisfaction and increased productivity.

During the course of her residency, Dr Swart will also be giving a series of talks, holding one-to-one taster sessions with some of the hotels most highly valued VIP guests, offering specific advice on how to minimise the disruptive effects of travel.
