According to the Vietnam’s General Statistic Office, international visitors to Viet Nam continues to grow and in August some 899,738 tourists visited the country, an increase of 6.3% from the previous month and 34.4% over the same period of 2015.
The total tourist arrivals to the country accounted as 6,452,373 in the first eight months, up 25.4% over the same period last year, including 5,438,933 by air (+28.5%); 98,849 by sea (-15.4%) and 914,591 by road (+14.5%).
Remarkable rise was seen from most of markets such as: Hong Kong (+92.8%), China (+57.9%), the Republic of Korea (+37.6%), Thailand (+34.9%), Laos (+26.6%), New Zealand (+26.4%), Russia (+25%), Sweden (+24.3%), Japan (+12.1%). Particularly, the number of visitors from 5 countries enjoying one-year visa extension under the Resolution 56/NQ-CP of the Vietnamese Government from July 1, 2016 has been continuously rising including Italy (+31.8%), Spain (+27.6%), the UK (+22.8%), Germany (+17.7%), and France (+13.4%).
In the first eight months, there were 43.1 million domestic trippers; the tourism sector earned VND265,152 billion, 22.9% higher than the same period last year.
