New Art installation program will embrace the Ser Collection philosophy

CasaSandra, Holbox, Mexico / Habiramy, Havana, Cuba Sandra Perez, Cuban artist and owner of CasaSandra hotel in Holbox, Mexico today announces the launch of Ser Collection: a boutique group of hotels defined by their organic spaces which connect nature, art and human sensitivity. Sandra says: “With exceptional standards of service and a strong commitment to nature and local culture, Ser Collection will define a very different authentic story for the hotel industry.” Initially, the new hotel collection will include CasaSandra on the Mexican island of Holbox – first opened in 2003 - and Habiramy, a new property in Havana.

CasaSandra is an intimate and romantic space surrounded by art.  It is a place to rejuvenate to reconnect with nature, revitalise energy levels and escape from routine: a paradise on earth where there is no reference to time. “This used to be my house,” comments Sandra “My private refuge which I decided to open to guests to share this special destination and help them to unplug.  Its smell, warmth, colours and design create the perfect environment to forget time, forget the world and simply enjoy the stillness of the beautiful moment.” Opening at the end of 2017, Ser Collection’s new hotel in Havana - Habiramy, will reflect a unique reference to Cuban art and culture. Set in the old town, just a few steps from the Capitol, this three-floor property was built in 1905 and is a celebration of Cuban heritage. Sandra explains: “Havana is place of art, emotions and historical culture which I believe all nurture the soul. This is why I named the new hotel Habiramy, which means “In beauty I see myself”. Habiramy emphasises Ser Collection’s commitment to Cuban world as Casa Sandra does in Mexico.

Ser Collection’s mission is to connect with each local environment and allow guests to fine-tune their inner selves. To celebrate the launch of the collection, CasaSandra will host a series of art installations created by Sandra in collaboration with other international artists to highlight the connection of the local environment and the importance of the interaction between life, art, culture and spirituality.  The first installation will be in collaboration with Sandra Ramos, one of the most famous artist from Cuba known for her surrealist expressionism reflecting her relationship with Cuba’s political and social situation. Sandra’s works have been shown in the most important artistic cities of the world including Tokyo, Miami, New York, London. Sandra Ramos comments: “Holbox is the dream of any creative artist – unlike any other, this remote island not only inspires the imagination but truly nurtures the soul.” In addition, Ser Collection properties will become residences for artists who, selected by an international commitee, will be invited to express their view about the local environment. Sandra says: “Peace and art are a great treasure for all of us and Ser Collection want to be a platform to celebrate it. We look forward to sharing with you our love for human being”.
