Mossel Bay’s very own Santos Express Train Lodge has been awarded the Sanlam Top Destination Awards title in the Lodge Category and Ungraded Star Grading.
Out of an estimated 8000 establishments, 120 finalists were invited to attend the second annual awards ceremony, which was held at The Bay Hotel, Camps Bay on September 6.
Hosted by Discount Traveler and title sponsored by Sanlam, the Top Destination Awards platform aims to honour the accommodation establishments behind South Africa’s flourishing tourism industry.
Competing with 802 lodges in the main category, Santos Express Train Lodge stood out as unique and top class.
This local gem has been a landmark and international tourist destination for 22 years. From humble beginnings, it has survived a devastating fire which engulfed and destroyed most of the premises in 2007. The A-team in charge has rebuilt, remodelled, improved, developed and grown throughout the years.
