World’s largest hotel with 10,000 rooms to open in Mecca

Mecca is expected to be home to the world’s largest hotel, known as ‘Abraj Kudai’, equipped with 10,000 rooms spanning across 1.4 million square meters and costing about $3.5 billion within the year 2017.

The Dar Al-Handasah group would design the hotel and the Ministry of Finance of Saudi Arabia would be the owner of this majestic hotel. The hotel would be built in Mecca’s Manafia region and this place is located at a distance of nearly 2 km from Holy Haram, Mecca.

Apart from 10,000 rooms, the hotel would offer sophisticated luxuries to its guests in the form of over 70 restaurants spread over 48 storeys and 12 towers. Moreover, there would be plans for four helipads on the roof of the hotel too.

Several royal visits are expected in the hotel. Therefore, the hotel is being planned in a unique way such that floors of this complex would be perfect for serving royal families. The hotel compound would also have a convention centre. Besides, guests would be able to enjoy facilities like car parks, restaurants, conference centre, food courts, shopping mall and a bus station.

A dome would be created on the top of two towers that are a part of the hotel. This dome would contain a convention centre as well as a ballroom.

The Abraj Kudia hotel would not only have the largest number of rooms, but would also house the largest dome in the world on top of its tallest tower.

The hotel would have a massive size, impressive height and location, flaunting a marvelous architectural style that makes it a unique landmark.

This hotel is expected to open to guests by 2017. However, financial experts have predicted that it might take yet another year to complete the construction of this hotel.
