The Most Expensive Beach Destinations in Europe

Check out the most expensive beach destinations in Europe this summer. According to a survey conducted by French travel website Allovoyages.fr, Playa d'en Bossa, the popular holiday resort on the Spanish island of Ibiza, is the most expensive beach destination in Europe. The survey compared the cost of lodging at all European holiday resorts during the month of August. The results were compiled based on average rates for the cheapest available double room in each destination. Only accommodation rated at least 3 stars was considered.
At an average of €254 euros per night, Playa d'en Bossa comes top of the rankings. Positano, a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast, and Oia, located on the Greek Island of Santorini, complete the podium with average rates of €243 and €242 euros, respectively.
The following table shows the 10 most expensive holiday resorts in Europe this summer. The prices shown reflect the average rate for each destination's cheapest available double room, in accommodation rated at least 3 stars, for the period spanning 1–31 August 2016.
