CHICAGO—Waldorf Astoria Chicago has added 7,914 sq. ft. of meeting and event space on the hotel’s third floor. Included in the renovation are four new venues: Hawthorne, Alcott, and Thoreau meeting rooms, along with a private dining room. The new meeting and event spaces complement the pre-existing 4,448 sq. ft. of meeting space on the hotel’s fifth floor.
Marlene Poynder, general manager of Waldorf Astoria Chicago, stated, “The transformation of our third floor allows our hotel to fulfill the changing needs of meeting planners in the most elegant way, offering an inspirational environment equipped with the latest technology.”
The three stylish meeting rooms, named after notable authors, carry on the literary influence, Parisian-style and 1920s design of the fifth floor event venues: Sinclair Ballroom, Hemingway Salon, Faulkner Salon and the Fitzgerald Salon. Each of the new spaces, which range from 830 sq. ft. to 962 sq. ft., feature design touches, a tonal color palette, luxe carpeting, high ceilings and a column-free open layout.
The spaces accommodate conferences, classroom, hollow square, U-shape, theater, reception and banquet style events, catering from 27 to 100 guests. The four spaces offer customizable audio-visual capabilities, wired and wireless internet access, and 30 AMP power service, with windows in three of the four spaces overlooking the European-inspired courtyard.
