Hotel Café Royal is pleased to announce new appointments to its executive team – Laura Cammarano, Director of Sales; Franziska Lein, Senior Sales Manager – Leisure & MICE; Sasha Taylor, Director of Groups & Events and Andreas Bergfeld, Account Director – Corporate Markets for The Set hotels. July also sees a new position for Rohit Gupta, former Sales Director at Hotel Café Royal, who was appointed Regional Director of Sales, Middle East for The Set hotels. Speaking about the new appointments Hotel Café Royal’s Managing Director Thomas Kochs said “We are delighted to welcome these new members to our wonderful team at the hotel, and are proud to announce a new position focused on the Middle Eastern market for Rohit Gupta who has been with us since early 2015. I am sure the new appointments at Hotel Café Royal and The Set will only make our position as a leader in the luxury hospitality market stronger.”
Laura Cammarano – Director of Sales
Laura joins Hotel Café Royal with an extensive background in the luxury hotel market having spent time abroad in Regional Sales Director roles at Starwood’s Hotel Imperial, Hotel Bristol and Le Meridien in Vienna. Most recently, and closer to home, Laura has worked as Assistant Director of Sales at Maybourne Hotel Group, London. Laura joins the senior management team at the hotel and will lead the sales team at an exciting time for the property as it continues to develop its presence in key markets as one of London’s leading luxury hotels. Thomas Kochs, Managing Director remarked “Laura will play a pivotal role in developing the future strategy for the property and her strength lies in her extensive knowledge of the luxury sector and London market in particular”.
Sasha Taylor – Director of Groups & Events
Sasha joins Hotel Café Royal with a number of years in events management and experience within the luxury hotel market. Sasha’s previous roles have included five years on the events team at Claridge’s and more recently at Rosewood London where she was responsible for the development and delivery of social events at the hotel. Sasha has also undertaken event roles at The Dorchester, London and gained international experience with Marriott during her International Hospitality Management degree at Leeds University. Thomas Kochs, Managing Director added “Sasha has a wealth of experience in handling some of the most prestigious hotel events in London over recent years and is a wonderful addition to the team”.
Franziska Lein, Senior Sales Manager – Leisure & MICE
Franziska joins the sales team at Hotel Café Royal with a deep understanding and experience of the European Leisure and MICE market. Previously at Mandarin Oriental in Paris,Franziska looked after European wide markets across the Leisure and MICE market segments. Prior to working in Paris, Franziska has held a number of other sales positions within the Mandarin Oriental group including roles in Frankfurt and Prague. Matthias Kaesweber, VP of Sales & Marketing for The Set commented “With Café Royal’s illustrious heritage as the meeting place for London, the Leisure and MICE market will be further developed under Franziska’s expert direction”.
Andreas Bergfeld – Account Director, Corporate Markets – The Set Hotels
Andreas moves to The Set hotels based at Hotel Café Royal from a two year role as Senior Corporate Sales Manager for The Corinthia, London specialising in companies in the Pan-European area. Before The Corinthia, Andreas worked at the ME London from 2011-2014, which included the pre-launch and opening period for the hotel, where again he looked after the European market as well as the North American area. Andreas has also held a number of other corporate sales roles abroad with brands including Swissotel and Starwood Worldwide in Frankfurt. Matthias Kaesweber, VP of Sales & Marketing for The Set commented “As The Set continues to build on its success in Amsterdam and London, we also look forward to opening our third property, the Lutetia in Paris next year. Andreas will play a key role across the group in building the portfolio of corporate clients”.
Rohit Gupta – Regional Director of Sales, Middle East – The Set Hotels
Joining Hotel Café Royal in 2015 as Associate Sales Director and later Sales Director, Rohit has helped shape the hotel as one of the leaders in its field with his expertise in the Middle Eastern market. In his new role for The Set, Rohit will continue to focus on developing and growing the important Middle Eastern market for both Hotel Café Royal in London and sister property Conservatorium in Amsterdam as well as the new Lutetia in Paris when it opens next year. Prior to joining Hotel Café Royal Rohit spent a number of years working for the Jumeirah group in Dubai working in Global Sales roles, particularly focusing on his specialist areas – the Middle East and India. Matthias Kaesweber, VP of Sales & Marketing for The Set added “The Middle Eastern market continues to grow for the group and with his experience, Rohit is perfectly positioned to strengthen this market for Hotel Café Royal, the Conservatorium and the Lutetia when it opens in 2017”.
