It’s not every day you get to travel in a plane where you are the only passenger! Steven Schneider flew home to Atlanta on a 160-seat MD-90 Delta flight and was the sole passenger on the plane.
Mr Schneider, of Lawrenceville, Georgia arrived at the airport in New Orleans to find ne was the only passenger waiting to board. Curious, he started making inquiries and came to know that because the flight had been delayed twice, other passengers had decided to take an earlier flight. Some of the passengers also thought to wait unit the next day and Mr Schneider was given the same choice. However, he decided to proceed with his scheduled journey.
A Delta flight attendant asked him if he would like to go home the next day because he would be the only passenger on the flight. Mr. Schneider said he felt bad initially that the plane had to make the trip because of him however; the attendant said the plane needed to go back to Atlanta anyway and called it an empty leg flight.
Delta is a statement said that they are glad that the ‘customer enjoyed a somewhat rare solo experience’.
The rest of the passengers were accommodated on an earlier departure.
