Travelcall Director receives Virtuoso’s Ruby of Siam Award

Travelcall Director, Cher Roscoe, has been awarded the prestigious Ruby of Siam Award at the annual Virtuoso Symposium event held in Cape Town this week.

Presented by Virtuoso CEO Matthew Upchurch, the award recognises a Virtuoso member who has made major contributions to the entire global network.

“Each year, Virtuoso recognises just one of the network’s more than 11,400 travel advisors for their contribution to the highest standards of professional service both within their own business and the Virtuoso network,” Virtuoso Asia-Pacific Managing Director, Michael Londregan said from South Africa.

“Cher has been an iconic mentor to both team members in her business and to Virtuoso suppliers and members – regularly fielding enquiries and providing guidance and counsel in her own expert manner.

“This is the first time this award has been given to a Virtuoso member in the Asia-Pacific region and we congratulate Cher on her amazing effort.”

Cher established Travelcall 20 years ago her husband and was an inaugural Virtuoso member joining the group in 2004. She served two consecutive terms on the network’s hotel committee, representing her Australia and New Zealand colleagues.

Joint Managing Director of Goldman Group & Travelcall, Anthony Goldman, said Cher symbolised all that Virtuoso stands for.

“Cher stands for professionalism and excellence and lives and breathes Virtuoso’s principals while continuing to be a source of inspiration to our team, clients and our travel partners,” Mr Goldman said.

“We are delighted she has been recognised for her contribution.”

Virtuoso Symposium is a high-level business meeting that brings together the most influential decision makers of the travel industry, including key member advisors and preferred providers. This year saw 479 attendees from 43 countries converge on Cape Town for the five day event.
