Spring into May at Four Seasons Hotel New York


April showers bring an abundance of revelry for the month of May at Four Seasons Hotel New York. Guests can look forward to a wide arrange of events throughout the entire month, beginning with Cinco de Mayo celebrations with Maestro Dobel, a spirited Kentucky Derby viewing party, Mother’s Day brunch at The Garden, and specialty cocktails available for World Whiskey Day at the end of the month.
 
April Showers Bring May Flowers (April–June 2016): Embrace springtime with TY Bar’s Bouquet, a seasonal cocktail exclusively available from now through mid-June. The cocktail is a part of the ongoing Four Seasons Cocktail Quarterly initiative, which highlights one seasonal ingredient, cocktail technique or other trend every few months. In the spirit of “April Showers Bring May Flowers,” the cocktail is a nod to the flowers that are in full bloom this spring, and features a delicate balance of floral aromas and tart hibiscus, complete with a dash of spice. An infusion of port wine, vermouth, orange bitters and marigold flowers complements the elit by Stoli concentrated bittersweet palate and spicy grain flavours, while espelette-infused agave syrup softens up the smoky, spicy finish.

Cinco de Mayo (Thursday, May 5, 5:00 pm): Celebrate Cinco de Mayo at TY Bar’s Cinco de Maestro celebration on May 5, featuring specialty margaritas from Maestro Dobel tequila, 11th generation master tequila makers. Available all weekend long, guests can sip on the Grapefruit Margarita, a refreshingly tart take on the traditional cocktail, and the Island Margarita, a combination of homemade hibiscus syrup, orange liqueur, lime and Dobel Diamante tequila. Pair with festive small bites, including churros with Mexican chocolate pot de crème; Long Island duck flautas with cilantro aioli; or an East-meets-West twist with Korean beef tacos topped with spicy kimchi mayo.

Kentucky Derby (Saturday, May 7, 4:00-8:00 pm): …and they’re off! No need to head to Churchill Downs for the Derby as TY Bar will be hosting a viewing party with the official sponsor of the Derby, Woodford Reserve. Be sure to don Derby finest and sip on Woodford Reserve cocktails such as the Ginger Peach Julep, made with fresh ginger puree, mint, and peach liqueur; or the Sweet Bourbon Punch, with fresh-brewed tea, orange juice, limeade and bourbon, both served in traditional copper mule mugs; or stick to a classic Tabasco-spiced Spicy Bloody Mary. All the action will be shown on TY Bar’s hi-definition TV, which is one of the biggest in the city, measuring 12 feet by 12 feet. Derby attire is strongly encouraged and Woodford Reserve will be awarding prizes to the best dressed, including a prize for the most creative hat.

Mother’s Day (Sunday, May 8, 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm): Celebrate Mom and treat her to a delicious Mother’s Day Brunch at The Garden. All guests will receive a complimentary Strawberry Rhubarb Bellini made with fresh rhubarb and strawberries and topped with basil. In addition to its regular a la carte menu, The Garden will feature a springtime arctic char with minted local pea risotto. World Whiskey Day (Saturday, May 21 – Sunday, May 22): Whether one drinks Scotch, rye, or bourbon, celebrate World Whiskey Day at TY Bar with signature whiskey cocktails made with Four Seasons White Label Hudson Baby Bourbon. Merrymakers can imbibe with whiskey cocktail flights featuring the TY Bar signature Old Fashioned, made with Hudson Baby Bourbon and angostura orange bitters; the New Fashioned, with Hudson Baby Bourbon, ginger syrup, fresh lemon juice and angostura bitters; or the Old Pal, made with Hudson Baby Bourbon, Campari and Punt e Mes.
