Carnival Vista has officially completed a couple weeks of sea trials and is ready to start bringing aboard staff and crew for their May 1 inaugural sailing.
Currently in the final stages of construction at Italy’s Fincantieri shipyard, the 3,954-passenger vessel had a full contingent of officers, technicians and engineers on board who thoroughly tested Carnival Vista’s sophisticated navigation, technical and mechanical systems.
Carnival Vista will offer a number of exciting innovations, including a unique suspended cycling attraction called SkyRide, the RedFrog Pub & Brewery, the Family Harbor staterooms and suites, the first IMAX Theatre at sea, and the 455-foot-long Kaleid-o-slide, the longest water slide in the fleet.
Following its May 1 inaugural sailing from Trieste, Carnival Vista will operate a schedule of eight- to 13-day Mediterranean cruises from Barcelona and Athens. The ship will then reposition to New York in November for a pair of 11-day voyages then launch year-round Caribbean service from Miami later that month.
