CLIA to Host 2016 Port & Destination Forum in London

Cruise Lines International Association’s (CLIA), the global association grouping the world’s cruise lines, has today announced that it will hold its annual Port & Destination Forum in London on 23 February, being the first event organised for CLIA’s Port & Destination Community this year.

During the course of this event, CLIA’s Executive Partners will have the chance to actively engage in a platform of open and engaging debate established within the framework of CLIA’s Executive Partner Program. 17 cruise line executives from CLIA’s Port & Destination Committees representing various cruise brands have confirmed their attendance so far.

The day’s schedule includes forum sessions specifically tailored to the needs and interests of port authorities, port agents, tour operators, tourism organisations and other stakeholders in the Port & Destination Community. The matters that are of most importance to the Port & Destination community will be central to the agenda for discussion. The program also includes a networking lunch, a cocktail reception and an optional dinner following the Forum.

CLIA’s 2016 Port & Destination Forum will be held at the headquarters of the law firm Hill Dickinson LLP in London City, in association with Cruise Port Kotka, the headline sponsor.

The Port & Destination Forum is part of CLIA’s Executive Partner Program, which serves companies and organisations active in the cruise industry’s value chain. Within this framework, CLIA organises events and conferences specifically targeted to each of CLIA’s four communities of interest.

“Following last year’s inaugural Forum we are delighted to bring back to London an enhanced program for CLIA’s 2016 Port & Destination Forum,” said Bo Larsen, VP, Strategic Partnerships, CLIA. “Cruising remains a dynamic, forward-thinking, and rapidly evolving industry. As it continues to grow, so does the number of ports and destinations cruise ships reach. Thus the need to bring together they key players of the Port & Destination Community in order to discuss the common challenges and opportunities that arise in this process.”
