As of September 1st, 2015, new additional security measures for the passenger and hand baggage screening process at all European airports have been implemented.
The new measures involve the continuous random screening of at least 10% of the departing passengers who have been selected to be screened by Explosive Trace Detectors along with their handbags and their other personal effects.
Athens International Airport, in an ongoing effort to continuously upgrade its services to the travelling public, prepared the integration of the above-mentioned new process, in full compliance with the security regulation which has been met with no significant impact to the passengers’ experience or unnecessary delays to the normal departure flows.
