Diabetes UK will once again host a celebration to mark their fundraisers’ efforts in tackling the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 at Church House Conference Centre. Taking place on Sunday August 2, the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 is the biggest closed-road bike ride in the UK. This year over 25,000 cyclists are set to take part in the ride, with events for everyone from beginners to the elite.
A team of around 160 cyclists will be taking part in the 100 mile challenge on behalf of Diabetes UK to raise vital funds for the charity, which cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of every person living with or at risk of diabetes in the UK. This year, the charity is hoping to raise £111,000 to further develop its work.
Following the gruelling event, the charity will host a cool down party at Church House to thank the riders for their support and celebrate their achievements with friends, family and supporters. It will be the occasion for participants to share their experiences whilst enjoying refreshments and a well-earned massage.
Anna Schlerf, Fundraising Events Manager at Diabetes UK, said: “Our cool down party will give the cyclists the opportunity to meet the Diabetes UK staff and have a well-deserved rest after their ride. Initially we chose Church House due to the close proximity to the event’s finishing line on the Mall, the size of the venue and the facility for bike storage. This will be our third year using Church House for the event, so it will be very familiar to our regular cyclists.”
Church House Conference Centre’s General Manager, Robin Parker, commented: “The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey is one of the real legacies of the Olympic Games. Those taking part in the event on behalf of Diabetes UK should be applauded for their efforts and we are delighted to be supporting the charity as the host venue for its post-race celebrations.”
Situated in the heart of Westminster Church House Conference Centre is one of London’s most versatile event venues. The AIM Gold accredited venue offers 19 flexible event spaces, which accommodate between 2 and 664 guests, and host a wide variety of events including meetings, conferences, awards ceremonies, gala dinners and receptions.
