As the number of tourists visiting Turkey from Russia continues to decline due to the recent economic crisis in the country, TUROB - Touristic Hotels & Investors Association of Turkey hosts a group of tourism professionals from Astrakhan Region of Russia.
TUROB in cooperation with Turkish Airlines continues to host foreign tourism professionals in Turkey since the beginning of this year. In this context, TUROB hosts Russian tourism professionals at Istanbul Point Hotel until June 10, 2015.
Russia is Turkey’s second most important source market for tourism industry. There is a drop of 29% in tourist arrivals from Russia visiting Turkey in the first 4 months of 2015. As the recent economic crisis in Russia, around 300 thousand Russian travelers visited Turkey in the first 4 months of the year.
While tourism sector is trying to keep the decline at a minimum level, there is a hope of recovery with the last minute sales.
