Jumeirah at Etihad Towers which was awarded Green Globe certification in August 2014, has taken further steps to help the environment by replacing the in room toiletries of the Deluxe and Grand Deluxe room categories with high quality ‘BeeKind’ products from Gilchrist and Soames.
The BeeKind range uses 100% natural ingredients including honey, organic extracts of red clover, calendula, lemon grass and chamomile, providing a soothing and relaxing effect for the skin, without artificial colours or dyes. Gilchrist and Soames are donating a portion of the net proceeds from the BeeKind products to support honey bees and sustainable pollination research. This is one of the many changes the hotel has undertaken to make its services conscious of wider environmental issues.
“Nowadays we are all concerned about what is good for our skin and thankfully we’re becoming increasingly concerned about what is good for our environment,” said Stefan Fuchs, General Manager of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers. “With the new bathroom amenities we not only continue contributing to guests’ comfort but also to the environment and the threatened existence of honey bees, on which we actually all rely to pollinate a minimum of one third of all foods we consume on a daily basis.”
BeeKind has a young, chic and sensual fragrance. The top bursts with freshness as juicy limes, California lemons and crisp green apples intermingle with cool verbena notes. A heart of dewy rose petals, creamy muguet and white jasmine adds some mystique, while a dry down of crisp balsamic notes creates a smooth finish. The result is an irresistible and enticing fragrance.
