In a bizarre incident a bee forced a plane traveling from the UK to Ireland to turn back. The incident which took place last Friday forced Turboprop aircraft, operated by budget carrier Flybe, to return back to Southampton.
In a statement issued by the airline it was made evident that “flight BE384 traveling to Dublin returned from airborne following a suspected technical issue” adding “the aircraft landed without incident and all passengers disembarked as normal.”
The incident resulted in a two-hour delay for passengers.
The airline, however, regretted ‘any inconvenience experienced as a result of the delay to this flight’ as it holds ‘the safety of its passengers and crew as number one priority’.
Flybe engineers inspected the technical fault and discovered that a bee had become lodged in an item of instrumentation on the outside of the aircraft.
Even last year Flybe was in the news when one of its pilots made a “heavy landing” after his false arm became detached while performing a manoeuvre.
