Ει βούλει καλώς ακούειν, μάθε καλώς λέγειν, μαθών δε καλώς λέγειν, πειρώ καλώς πράττειν, και ούτω καρπώση το καλώς ακούειν. (Επίκτητος)

PIER 39 was ranked the most-visited attraction in San Francisco for the second time by San Francisco Travel Association's Visitor Profile Study. The study is conducted every four years and, according to 2014 results, 43.7% of domestic and international visitors came to PIER 39 during their stay in San Francisco. An estimated 10 million people visit PIER 39 annually.
PIER 39 is a 45-acre waterfront complex that is a gathering place for millions of San Francisco locals and visitors each year.  The PIER is a two-level open-air marketplace featuring over 110 restaurants, shops and attractions, all surrounded by iconic views of the bay and San Francisco landmarks.  PIER 39 also includes a five-acre waterfront park and 300-berth marina, home to the world famous California sea lions.
"We could not be more proud of this achievement," said Taylor Safford, President and CEO of PIER 39. "Our goal is to always be the most-visited attraction in San Francisco. We keep The PIER fun and fresh because visitors return to PIER 39 an average of six times, and we always want to have something new for them to see and do. Our restaurants, entertainment, specialty shops and attractions provide a high-quality family experience, and we will continue to work hard to remain San Francisco's most-visited attraction."
San Francisco Travel Association contracted Destination Analysts, Inc. to conduct a Visitor Profile Study throughout 2014. More than 4,600 visitors were surveyed about topics ranging from their activities and spending patterns in San Francisco to their reasons for deciding to visit the City. According to the latest study, the top three most-visited attractions in San Francisco are PIER 39 (43.7%), the Golden Gate Bridge (43.4%) and Golden Gate Park (28.8%).
