Three F/A-18A/B Hornets will depart RAAF Base Willliamtown in New South Wales to take part in the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace and Defence Exposition which is being held from 24 February to 1 March in Geelong.
The aircraft will fly over Moorabbin at around 10.30am and then head towards Point Nepean. The aircraft will do a low level (approximately 250 feet) anti-clockwise flight from Point Nepean around Port Phillip Bay to Altona flying approximately 600 metres off the coast. Once they reach Altona, they will gain altitude to 2500 feet and fly directly into Avalon Airport.
Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.
