Cruise1st.co.uk has become the first UK cruise operator to offer a useful and fun app letting friends keep up with a seafarer's latest cruise holiday.
Using GPS technology, CruiseTraka documents a cruiser's travels to friends and loved ones so they can stay abreast of the adventures.
CruiseTraka automatically checks users in to new destinations and ports upon arrival and alerts friends via social media accounts or email addresses, sure to make 2014 those back home green with envy.
The free app allows guests to opt in on selected cruises and all customers travelling before 31st December 2014 will be offered the free service and will receive the option to opt in 14 days before their departure via email.
The system works in real time, so friends and followers will know where users are and not just where they have been. Cruise lovers can also select the recipients of updates, ensuring that they are only showing off to co-workers and not antagonising their boss.
CruiseTraka also includes an online photo album which features an interactive travel map, detailing the path taken by the ship and the option to add photographs to the album along the way so guests can reflect on cherished memories when they return as well as share the journey with friends and family as they go.
The app can be used on cruise ships from the biggest and best loved lines in the world, including Royal Caribbean, P&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, MSC, Cunard and many more.
