One of Turkey’s major tourist attractions; the former Greek and Roman ancient city of Ephesus, near Selçuk town of Izmir recorded over 4 million Turkish liras ($1.85 mln) revenue from 773 thousand tourists that visit the ancient city in the first half of 2014.
According to the Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry statistics, number of tourists visiting Izmir’s Archaeology, Atatürk, History and Art museums, Agora, Ephesus, The Basilica of St. John, Bergama, Pergamon, Asklepieion, Acropolis, Çeşme, Ödemiş, and Tire museums reached 1.272.845 tourists in the first 6 months of 2014. The total revenue received: 5 million 935 thousand Turkish liras ($2.75 mln)
