Travelers visiting Turkey will no longer have to apply for an electronic visa before they travel after authorities agreed to postpone the introduction of the new system until the end of the year.
Electronic visas were due to be exclusively in place by April 10 which means the practice of obtaining visas upon arrival to points of entry to Turkey will come to an end.
However, Turkish Touristic Hotels & Investors Association (TUROB) informed that the due date is extended until December 31, 2014 so that visitors who need a visa to enter to Turkey can get it at Turkish borders.
Travelers can also obtain an e-Visa online on www.evisa.gov.tr. Visitors can simply fill in their details, make payment and download their e-Visas prior to their travels up to 24 hours before travel.
