ADMEI to host event on current issues facing DMCs

With the recent events within the world-wide DMC industry, and the resulting questions from current and future DMC clients, the Association of Destination Management Executives International (ADMEI) is convening a meeting of representatives from DMC consortia throughout the world and independent DMCs to discuss and industry response to current issues facing DMCs.

This program will include a panel discussion, chaired by Grant Snider, DMCP, Immediate Past President of ADMEI and will provide opportunity for input from the broader DMC community. Panel participants will include: Chris Lee, DMCP, CEO, ACCESS Destination Management; Shari Millman, Senior VP of Operations, AlliedPRA, Inc.; Bent Hadler, DMCP, Director and CEO, Hadler DMC and Vice President, World of DMCs; Jennifer Patino, DMCP, CEO, Hosts Global Alliance; Susan Gray, DMCP, President, MAC Meetings and Events; Laurie Stroll, DMCP, CMP, President, Newport Hospitality and Immediate Past Chair, DMC Network; and Padraic Gilligan, DMCP, Managing Partner, SoolElla and Non-Executive Chairman, Ovation Global DMC.

The outcome of this meeting is a potential gold standard for how a DMC should be able to demonstrate financial stability. ADMEI will develop a toolbox for DMCs to adequately demonstrate their solid financial status to their current and prospective clients.

This discussion will be held on Thursday, 6 February 2014 from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Capital Hilton Hotel, Mezzanine Level, in Washington, DC, just prior to the beginning of the ADMEI Annual Conference that afternoon.

This event is open to all DMCs, both independent and consortia members. There is no cost to participate, but responses are requested by going to https://admei.wufoo.com/forms/rsvp-for-admei-industry-panel.
