The visa waiver agreement between Mauritius and China, which was signed on August 29, came into force on Thursday, October 31.
Mauritian citizens wishing to travel in China and for a period not exceeding 30 days will no longer need a visa and Chinese visitors coming to Mauritius will be subject to the same conditions.
Mauritian travelers will still otherwise have in their possession at the entrance of the Chinese territory various mandatory documents as their return ticket, booking their accommodation and proof of address and bank statement, plus a passport valid for a period of six months.
