Holiday Inn Resort Opens Near Mount Rushmore

ATLANTA—IHG has opened Deadwood Mountain Grand, a Holiday Inn Resort Hotel in Deadwood, SD, following roughly $50 million in renovations.

Formerly a historical mining building, the hotel has nine floors comprising 98 guestrooms and five suites. The casino and event center, as well as the hotel itself—a former independent property—have undergone significant renovations with an overall theme focused on an upscale Western atmosphere and décor, and with historic Deadwood artwork featured in the guestrooms.

Amenities include a fitness center, business center and meeting facilities, as well as an indoor pool, spa, casino and event center that can accommodate over 2,000 people. Additionally, the property’s Kids Club features activities themed around the town’s Wild West past. Dining options include Aught Six Grille and Slime Plant Bar & Lounge, which has live entertainment. 

The town of Deadwood is a Registered National Historic Landmark. Additionally, it is located 45 minutes from Mount Rushmore and one hour from the Devil’s Tower. Other nearby attractions include the Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park.
