Austrian Airlines will increase its North American services for summer 2014.
From July 2, the carrier will add five weekly flights to Newark to its network.
Alongside its daily flights to New York JFK, the new route increases Austrian’s catchment area to 20 million inhabitants.
In addition, the airline will add 90 extra seats to its daily Washington flight from July 1, by replacing the current Boeing 767 with a 777.
May 2014 will see Austrian’s Chicago route rise from five weekly to daily.
Karsten Benz, CCO, stated: “North America has potential. Our flights are very popular, which is why we are increasing their frequency.
“In the summer of 2014, we will expand our offering to North America by about 30%.
“We are growing on long-haul routes, strengthening our flight service to the USA and expect 130,000 more passengers in 2014.”
