Warwick International Hotels Creates JV to Expand in Africa

PARIS-The Warwick International Hotels Group (WIH) has formed a joint venture with Recreation Africa Group (RAG) to expand its network of hotels throughout sub-Saharan Africa through management contracts under the WIH brand.

The JV company, named Warwick International Hotels Africa Limited, will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Don Elliot will serve as the company's CEO. Born in Kenya, Elliot has worked for nearly 30 years within the Starwood group and has held unit and regional, operational and financial senior management positions in the U.S., Australia, the Middle East, India and Africa. He is also a member of the Federation Hospitality Association of South Africa board.


Warwick International Hotels already has five affiliated hotels in Africa: the Alhambra Thalasso Hotel in Yasmine Hammamet, Tunisia; Hivernage Hotel & Spa in Marrakech, Morocco; Hotel Jardin Savana Dakar, Senegal; Misty Hills Country Hotel Conference Centre & Spa, Johannesburg and Kedar Country Hotel Conference Centre & Spa in Rustenburg, which are both in South Africa and owned by RAG.



Warwick International Hotels currently consists of 55 hotels and resorts on 5 continents, including the Warwick New York & the Warwick Champs-Elysees.
