SWISS adds Kiev to its network in its winter schedules

Swiss International Air Lines will commence scheduled services to Kiev with the start of the 2013/14 winter timetable period on 27 October. SWISS will also be adjusting its existing services from Zurich, Geneva and Basel in line with expected demand during the winter months. As well as eliminating certain frequencies, this will include providing further attractive new destinations to be served from Geneva.

New European destination from Zurich
SWISS will be adding Kiev to its European network with the start of the winter schedules on Sunday 27 October. The capital of Ukraine will receive daily service from Zurich, provided with Airbus A320 equipment seating 152 passengers.

As it did last year, SWISS will be eliminating certain frequencies to other European destinations and on some North American routes in response to projected demand in the winter timetable period. At the same time, service on the Zurich-Miami route will again be increased from seven to ten weekly flights.

Further expansion for Geneva
SWISS will be offering an extensive range of services from Geneva in the coming months. No fewer than six new destinations are being added to the Geneva-based network: Stockholm (served up to four times weekly), Oslo (up to three times weekly) and Gothenburg (up to twice weekly) in Scandinavia, along with Belgrade (up to twice weekly), London Gatwick (up to three times weekly) and Marrakech (up to three times weekly).

Seasonal adjustments in Basel
SWISS will also be realigning its services from EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg to the expected lower winter demand. Flights to Rome will be suspended, while services to Barcelona and Prague will each be reduced by one weekly frequency. All three routes will be restored to their full complement of summer services, however, in the 2014 summer schedules.

76 points in 40 countries
SWISS will serve a total of 76 (52 European and 24 intercontinental) destinations in 40 countries in the 2013/14 winter timetable period. The services will be provided by a fleet of 91 aircraft, including five operated under wet-lease agreements.

Edelweiss and SWISS leisure flights
SWISS will also be offering services from Zurich to attractive vacation destinations all over the world this winter in collaboration with its partner Edelweiss. These will include the long-haul destinations of Tampa Bay, Cape Town, Phuket, Male, Mauritius and Punta Cana. The medium-haul destination of Madeira will also receive one weekly flight.

The 2013/14 winter timetable period runs from 27 October 2013 to 29 March 2014. Full details of all SWISS services are available at swiss.com.
