The Star Alliance Members, EGYPTAIR and Aegean Airlines, have recently signed new code-share agreement. This agreement comes in the light of EGYPTAIR’s strategy to expand its network worldwide and to enhance its existence in Greece.
This agreement will commence in the 27th of October 2013. EGYPTAIR customers will enjoy more travel options to fly between Egypt and Greece, as the customers will be able to fly from Athens to Salonika, Rodhos – Heraklion and Chania.
On the other hand, Aegean Airlines Customers will be able to fly on EGYPTAIR flights between Cairo / Athens and between Alexandria / Athens.
“The cooperation with Aegean Airlines will not only enhance EGYPTAIR’s network worldwide, but also enhance traffic on Egypt’s domestic destinations through increasing frequencies and traffic on these destinations, especially Cairo, Sharm El-Sheikh, Hurghada, Luxor and Aswan,” stated Hossam Kamal.
“We are happy to expand our network in Eastern Mediterranean through the code-share agreement with EGYPTAIR and offer our customers of the two countries access to multiple domestic and international connections via Athens, Cairo and Alexandria,” said Dimitris Gerogiannis Aegean Airlines Managing Director.
Noteworthy that EGYPTAIR EXPRESS operates two weekly flights from Alexandria to Athens and EGYPTAIR AIRLINES operates 10 weekly flights from Cairo to Athens.
Being both Star Alliance members, Frequent Flyers of both airlines will enjoy the same benefits accumulated onboard Star Alliance airlines.
