WAYN, travel and lifestyle
social media platform in the world, announced the winner of the Top Seven
Cities competition. Paris is celebrating victory
in the latest WAYN awards with nearly 8,000 votes, closely followed by New York and Rome ,
where there was less than 100 votes between them.
Jerome Touze, Co-Founder
of WAYN.com said: “All of these cities are very worthy candidates for this
award but as a French citizen myself I am of course delighted to hear that
nearly 8,000 WAYN members recognised Paris
as the top city. It doesn’t surprise me, as Paris is such a beautiful and vibrant place.
I could happily spend a lot of time here, with museums, galleries and some of
the best food on earth. It is hard not to fall in love with it.”
WAYN members have voted in
their thousands, with over 42,000 votes cast for all seven cities in total,
which also featured Sydney , London ,
Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo . The cities were selected through a
combination of market research data and tracking user engagement on WAYN.com.
The competition has its own micro-site and members have had the chance to win
Amazon vouchers in return for casting their votes.
Mr Nicolas Lefebvre,
General Manager of the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, said: “We are very
excited to win this international competition against other top cities and
would like to say a big thank you to WAYN members for choosing Paris . Their vote pays tribute to Paris, its
inhabitants, tourism trade professionals and tourism institutions as well as
the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau, who all work together to promote the
French capital. We hope you will come and visit our fantastic city soon!”
