The new office premises of Gulf Air located in Grivas Digheni Avenue 26C, Nicosia, successfully began its operation on the 25/04/2013.
The
opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Communications and
Works Mr. Tasos Mitsopoulos, the Minister of Commerce, Industry,
Tourism and Energy, Mr. George Lakkotrypis and the Sales Manager of
Gulf Air Mr. Yousif Saeed, where the airline had the opportunity to
create the foundations of a new start in Cyprus, through its
partnership with Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd. The honoured ministers
stressed the importance of such a partnership and its benefit on
Cyprus's weak economy in their speeches, while highlighting that such
business initiatives will provide a barometer to escape the current
crisis.
Mr.
Mitsopoulos referred to the history and the social bonds Gulf Air has
in the Cyprus market and added that the company supported the Cypriot
economy in 1976 by shifting Cypriots to work in Arab countries. 37
years later the company enhances its presence in the market, thus
contributing in its own way to the boosting of the economy.
On
his part, the CEO of Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd, Mr. Antonis Orthodoxou
warmly welcomed the new partnership, which sends a positive message
in a period where such optimism in the world is needed. He pointed
out that the Orthodoxou Group of Companies will continue seeking new
partnerships which will aid the recovery effort of the Cypriot
economy.
Finally,
Mr. Yousif Saeed was satisfied with the new cooperation and seemed
convinced that the opening of Gulf Air in Cyprus, will offer
passengers an additional quality choice for travelling to the United
Arab Emirates countries, Asia, Africa and India. Moreover, he
emphasised the huge contribution Orthodoxou Aviation Ltd will have in
this effort.
