Organisers
of the highly acclaimed Australian International Airshow and
Aerospace & Defence Exposition have announced the much
anticipated dates for Airshow 2015.
The industry only trade Exposition and the popular public Airshow will be held from Tuesday the 24th of February to Sunday March 1st at Avalon Airport near Geelong, Victoria.
Before finalising the dates, Airshow organisers consulted with a range of stakeholders to ensure there was no clash with other events on Victoria's busy events calendar.
The 2015 Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition will have a very special theme.
Airshow 2015 will commemorate the ANZAC Centenary, and will pay aviation homage to a century of service by Australians in the defence of the Nation.
The 'Spirit of Aviation' will be celebrated with an unrivalled gathering of aircraft from around the world with invitations to participate at the Airshow being extended to many International Military Forces.
It's hoped that countries which played a role during the First World War and in particular the Gallipoli campaign will participate in the Airshow's commemoration of the Centenary of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
In particular invitations have been extended to the United Kingdom, India and Japan. Each of these nations played a significant role alongside the ANZACS and served with distinction at Gallipoli and throughout the war.
A special invitation has also been extended to the Turkish Air Force to participate at the 2015 Airshow. This event will provide a fitting memorial to all those who served their respective countries and celebrate the close friendship which now exists between nations.
